Whiplash injuries are caused when a person suffers from a sudden jolt to their head or body which damages the muscles, ligaments, tendons or other soft tissues in the neck. Whiplash claims are one of the most common personal injury claim types we handle.
When we hear the word “whiplash” we automatically think of someone who has been involved in a car accident; however, it can be caused by many different situations including slips, trips and falls, sports injuries and even assaults and attacks.
We operate on a No Win, No Fee basis, meaning that there no upfront costs to you. We offer a free initial, no-obligation assessment of your case.

How long does whiplash last?
As the extent of the injuries are so varied, recovery time can take in excess of 3 months and in the worst cases, symptoms can last for over a year.
How much compensation will I receive?
There is no hard and fast rule for what a whiplash compensation claim may be worth. It depends on the severity of the injury, and also how long it is likely to take to settle down.
What can I claim for?
Your solicitor will factor in the different ways in which the accident has had an impact on your life when calculating the value of your claim, including:
- Loss of earnings
- Pain and suffering
- Care and rehabilitation
- Travel expenses to and from medical appointments
Should I make a claim through my insurance company?
If you’re the driver of the vehicle involved in a collision you have to inform your insurance company of the accident, failure to do so could invalidate your policy. When you contact your insurer they may try and offer you a pre-medical settlement offer, in order to encourage you to settle your claim earlier. Insurers do this as it means that they will have to pay out a considerably lower amount than you could be entitled to.
It is therefore recommended to instruct a solicitor to handle your claim in order to get the maximum amount of compensation that you are entitled to.
