Replace or Correct a British Citizenship Certificate
- You can apply for a replacement of a British citizenship certificate if you become a citizen after 30 September 1986.
- It costs £250 to replace a lost or damaged certificate. You will need to apply online for the replacement of your British citizenship certificate.

Correction of a British citizenship certificate
If you need to apply for some corrections on your citizenship certificate, if you become a citizen after 30 September 1986. You will need to apply by post. You will need to complete the printed application and form and post it to the UKVI.
You’ll need to pay a £250 fee if the mistake on your certificate was your fault. UKVI will send you a letter telling you if you need to pay.
If you became a British Citizen before 30 September 1986, you cannot get the replacement certificate from the UKVI. You can search the national archives.
